Melbourne 'Introduction to weaving workshop'

I will be hosting an 'Introduction to weaving' workshop Heide Museum of Modern Art as part of the 'Call of the Avant-Garde: Constructivism and Australian Art' exhibition. From warping your loom to taking your piece off the loom, I will take you through everything you need to know about weaving a small piece of tapestry. By the end of your class, you will have a handwoven piece of tapestry artwork. 

Date: Saturday the 9th of September 2017

Time: 9:30am - 1:00pm 

Duration: 3 hours

Location:  Heide Museum of Modern Art. 7 Templestowe Road Bulleen, VIC.

What you will learn:

  1. How to warp your loom
  2. How to begin a weave
  3. How to combine colours with different kinds of yarn fibre
  4. How to finish off your handwoven piece of work
