Carly Buteux, founder of Public Holiday has an emphasis on simplicity of form. Repetition, pattern and colour are also integral in the finish of each piece. Each piece is hand formed on the wheel, decorated, and embraces the beauty in imperfection. Every creation is unique and embodies its own personality. The natural colours and textures from a variety of stoneware clays have become a feature in the continuing development of Public Holiday’s ceramics. Operating out of a small studio space in Sydney’s inner west, Public Holiday draws inspiration from the ever present urban environment. With new experimental pieces bringing in materials such as timber, copper and leather, the range is ever expanding. Public Holiday takes pride in being completely made by hand.
Carly has contributed her planters with dishes to B FOR BRIAN in two different designs.
